The acceptance tests of liquid level measurement equipment in the automated control system of RNPP-4 standby diesel generators were held in Trebic (Czech Republic) on Nuvia a.s site. The supply of such equipment is envisaged within the implementation of the Comprehensive (Integrated) Safety Improvement Program for Ukrainian NPPs.
Endress+Hauser equipment with ultrasonic measurement will be installed on the automated control systems of RNPP standby diesel generator units No. 41 and No. 45. Their use will contribute to continuous, contactless and precise control of process media level what, in turn, will improve unit safety and operation reliability.
Ihor Yakhnivskyi, Researcher of the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, participated in the tests. According to the expert, tests of Prosonic non-contact level meters equipped with Liquiphant level sensors were carried out to confirm the compliance of the equipment with requirements of the technical specifications, as well as regulations on nuclear and radiation safety of Ukraine.
“Conditions and procedure of the acceptance tests of Endress+Hauser level meters comply with the regulations on nuclear and radiation safety. Test results are positive. Currently, the technical specifications have been submitted to the SNRIU for approval. The supply of equipment to RNPP site is expected this August”, Ihor Yakhnivskyi summarized.
