The State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS) and the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC) have signed a Memorandum of Partnership. The relevant document was signed by Ihor Shevchenko, SSTC NRS Director, Gaiane Karakashian, Head of UNIC Secretariat, and Ivan Sakal, Head of UNIC Executive Committee.
“We made a long way towards this and today we have something to be proud of. Our enterprise works absolutely transparently and honestly, the salaries of our employees are competitive in the industry. We also actively work with young people and employ young experts. We help to study and develop. We comply with all aspects of Ukrainian anti-corruption legislation. Today, the SSTC NRS is the only state-owned enterprise that has the TÜV NORD CERT certificate “Anti-Bribery Management System – Requirements with Guidance for Use”. I hope that signing of the Memorandum will become one more important step towards effective and honest cooperation with both Ukrainian and world partners”, Ihor Shevchenko said in his speech.
In his turn, Ivan Sakal, UNIC representative, expressed his appreciation for the understanding and support of the principles of honest business conduct and emphasized that only the transformation of approaches to doing business would allow effective work with partners and entry into international markets.
The Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance was created two years ago by the Business Ombudsman Council with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The main objective of the Network is to promote the idea of ethical and responsible business conduct.
The companies participating in the Network are committed to maintain good reputation and continuously improve their compliance with the best international practices.
According to Ivan Sakal, the responsibility of the companies will help prevent corruption, ease regulatory pressure, facilitate access to credit and foreign investments, and contribute to entry into international markets.
